The Flight Attendant Project 

 

Inspired by my mother’s career with Eastern Airlines, The Flight Attendant Project is a collection of stories told by former and current flight attendants. Pilots welcome.   

 

While growing up in Massachusetts, my mother told tell me stories from her days as a flight attendant in the 1970s; the stories were of crazy (and close) encounters, unbelievable coincidences, exciting secrets, spontaneous layovers, and the very real fears and the dangers too.  I would always ask her to tell me a story again, as I would never want to forget the details.  As I got older, the glamorous stories became mixed with more serious, even terrifying, ones.  This documentary aims to preserve the stories of the women (and men) who worked in the airline industry during the early, golden days of air travel.
